ESP Works in Progress 2021|22 line-up unveiled!

European Short Pitch proudly dedicates a space to projects in post-production to provide the selected filmmakers with a platform to find a co-producer, to complete the film and to promote it on a European level.

We are thrilled to unveil the 4 works in progress selected for our current edition. Hailing from 4 different countries and comprising a documentary and 3 fictions, with a prevalence of female directors, the projects are:

  • 3 Dialogues About the Future by Alina Manolache / Romania, produced by Playtime / Alina Manolache

  • Affricate by Anna Gyimesi / Hungary, produced by Umbrella Kreativ Mühely Kft. / Ádám Felszeghy

  • Airhostess-737 by Thanasis Neofotistos / Greece, produced by Argonauts Productions / Ioanna Bolomyti, Dimitris Tsakaleas

  • Jungle Law by Madli Lääne / Estonia, produced by Alexandra Film / Marianne Ostrat

Selected on the basis of the quality and potential of their short films, these 4 European talents will pitch and showcase excerpts of their works in progress in front of the professionals invited to the upcoming ESP Coproduction Forum 2021|22, organized in partnership with the Festival Travelling in Rennes, France.

Additionally, they will benefit from training sessions to prepare their presentation and enhance their works. The experts providing consulting will include film curator and programmer Massimiliano Nardulli (Italy), editor Cătălin Cristuțiu (Romania) and distributor Wouter Jansen (Netherlands).

The 4 work-in-progress short films will be presented – alongside this year's 12 projects in development – to ESP's industry guests on-site and online, having a chance to screen excerpts of their rough cut and to introduce each film and its specific needs; one-to-one meetings with industry professionals will follow.
